At the end of Chapter XXIV in Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, as "them two frauds…go all to smash" and start blubbering to the townspeople of Hookerville about the loss of his brother Peter Wilks, Huck comments that their display "was enough to make a body ashamed of the human race."(210).
